Group 'kidnaps' girl, friends

A group of people 'kidnapped' a girl and her friends, after learning that the girl had gone to a mall with her male friends on Friday.

According to the police, the girl, a student of a college in Uppala, was engaged to a person. As her fiance's kin learnt that the girl was travelling to Mangaluru with her friends, he tipped off her fiance, who along with a few others chased the car in which the girl was travelling and tried to kidnap the girl as well as her friends, near Kotekar Beeri.

The police upon learning about the incident, rushed to the spot, pacified both the parties and sent them home. The girl's friends were apparently her classmates.
