Complaint against Pratap Simha on 'provoking' posts

A social activist has lodged a complaint against Mysore-Kodagu BJP MP Pratap Simha for "uploading videos with provoking statements" in social media.

A Anand has filed the complaint with the cyber crime police seeking action against Simha for disturbing social harmony in the state and also issuing statements against serving police officers and senior officials. He has sought action under IPC Section 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion), 295A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs), 506 (criminal intimidation) and also under the Information Technology Act.

Cyber crime police said that they have received the complaint and were awaiting a legal opinion on registering an FIR.
