Honnavar returns to normalcy

Honnavar town, which was tense on Thursday following a reported attack on a schoolgirl, returned to normalcy on Friday.

Business and commercial establishments were open and vehicles including buses plyed as usual. However, holiday was declared to schools and colleges since ban orders under Section 144 CrPC were in force till 11 am.

The police have taken few people into custody on the charge of instigating a bandh on Thursday. Police continue to be deployed in the town as a precautionary measure.
