Paryaya: Palimaru Mutt seer's Pura Pravesha

The Paryaya celebrations of Palimaru Mutt seer Sri Vidyadheesha Theertha Swami is on full swing with the seer's Pura Pravesha (entry into the temple town) on January 3.

Speaking to media persons, the Pura Pravesha Committee chairman
Mohan Alva said a grand procession will be taken out at the traditional entrance of the city, Jodukatte and pass through Diana Circle, K M Marg, Triveni circle, Sanskrit College, Kanakadasa Marg and reach Car Street.

The procession will begin at 4 pm on the day. It will also comprise a 'Ratha' carrying the seer, 'Pallaki' and the mutt's band. The seer will offer prayers at Anantheshwara and Chandramouleshwara temples and enter the Sri Krishna temple at 6.35 pm.

A grand civic felicitation ceremony will begin at 7 pm at Rajangana. Scholar Haridas Bhat will deliver the felicitation speech. District In-charge minister Pramod Madhwaraj, MP Shobha Karandlaje and Kaup MLA Vinay Kumar Sorake will be the chief guests. Te Paryaya Pejwar mutt senior pontiff Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swami and junior pontiff Vishwaprasanna Theertha Swami will be present on the occasion.
