The 21st-century leadership should believe in young and creative minds who can solve problems of the country and also the world, a senior functionary of the RSS said.

C R Mukunda said a new type of leadership was needed which will look beyond textbook answers to challenges the world was currently facing.

"The 21st-century leadership should believe in young, creative minds who can solve all our problems," Mukunda, Akhil Bharatiya Saha-Boudhik Pramukh (all-India co-incharge of intellectual training) at the RSS, said.

He was speaking last evening at the 'India Ideas Conclave 2017' organised by the India Foundation here.

"Many times leadership will not believe in young and creative minds. But at the organisation which I represent, we are most optimistic about our young and creative minds.

"This is a new world and we need a new type of leadership. The new type of leadership is the one which will find answers (to challenges) in a new way and not (come out with) textbook answers," the RSS leader said.

He said among all the types of leadership, the one related to culture would play a decisive role in the 21st century.

"When I say culture, it is more than religion, it is not related to religion. I would say it is related to values. A leadership which depends on good values, starting from a family life to the world. These values, which I consider as cultural values, will play a decisive role," Mukunda added.

He said culture will play an important role in shaping a leader.

"A leader who takes decisions based on values is required for the 21st century. The challenges facing Bharat and the world will find their answers in young and creative minds," he added.
