Soon the people of the district need not run from pillar to post to get their problems addressed and to file complaints with the government offices. The district administration is all set to launch a web portal to enable residents to file their grievances online with the authorities concerned.

The new portal will be dedicated on December 29 and people can register complaints by visiting www.hassan.nic.in or http://web11.kar.nic.in:8080/hassan_pgrs.

Nearly 50 government departments have been brought under a single platform to solve issues of the people. The complaints registered online will be directly transferred to the officials concerned for immediate action.

Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri said that the aim of setting up the web portal was to make things beneficial for both, citizens as well as the administration and to maintain transparency. As many as 50 government organisations, including, social forest, animal husbandry, horticulture, agriculture and others will be brought under a single platform and people can register complaints or submit applications online by using computers or smart phones.

The DC said that regular follow-up will be done about the complaints registered and a nodal officer has been appointed to monitor the system. Besides addressing the issues, the new portal will also be helpful in maintaining transparency, she said.

National Informatics Centre (NIC) has designed the portal and the technology is user friendly. Complainants can register complaints in both Kannada and English language, she informed.

One needs to only register their mobile number and submit the grievance online. The complaints will be forwarded to the respective departments online asking them for responses and solutions, which in turn will be sent to the complainant online, Sindhuri said.

The complainant needs to provide the details such as mobile phone number, nature of the complaint, department concerned and upload it in PDF format. The complainant can also take a print out of the complaint copy if needed. If the authorities fail to resolve the issue on time then a reminder will be sent to them, the DC added.

The complainant can also check the status of the complaint online.

If the complaint is not resolved on time then, they can contact the DC over e-mail or through phone.
