PUC student of Alva's commits suicide on his birthday

Mangaluru: A PUC student of Alva's Institutions, Moodabidari, Dakshina Kannada district, committed suicide on his birthday.  

Police said, Tejas (16) of Abbigere, Bengaluru, was the unfortunate student.  

He has left behind a death note wherein he has stated that his mother's demise and his father's chronic back pain has driven him to take the extreme step.  

He has hanged himself at Nandini hostel in Alva's campus.

Tejas had met his father and step mother, on January 8 (Monday) and celebrated his birthday with them. It was then that his father shared news of his chronic back pain with him.  

Depressed by the news, Tejas returned to his hostel at about 7.30 pm and committed suicide, police added.  

Moodabidari police are investigating the case.
