A woman, who stole at least 10 laptops from paying guest rooms and sold them for Rs 4 lakh,  has landed in police net.

The Mico Layout police caught Shobha (23) while she was trying to sell a stolen laptop at a service centre. She worked  at a firm for a few months. During her stay as a paying guest, she stole a laptop and sold it at a service station.

She began to target paying guest rooms and visit them on the pretext of renting a room. Her modus operandi was simple. If she found a laptop in the room, she would tell the owner she was ready to rent it. She would then seek permission to stay in the room for a while saying she has an interview to attend and would promise to pay the deposit and submit her ID later. Once the owner  agreed and left the room, she would steal the laptop and other valuables,  put them in her backpack and  sneak out.
