Railways gives Kannada handbook to gateman

The South Western Railway has released a handbook for its gateman manning the railway crossings to improve their technical and procedural knowledge as well as the safety of commuters.

For the first time, the 'Handbook for Gateman' has been published in Kannada. The book contains guidelines, rules and procedures for enhancing safety at railway gates. Additionally, the book has the pictorial representation of dos and donts.

The book is part of efforts made by the Bangalore Division under 'Project Saksham' to impart training to the grassroots employee to enhance their knowledge as well as practical training.
