KSRTC workers' federation wants glitches in transfers rectified

A federation of employees from KSRTC and other road transport corporations has taken objection to the procedure followed by officials in deciding applications for inter-corporation transfer.

In a press release, KSRTC Staff and Workers Federation general secretary H V Anantasubba Rao said the option entry in the application form, forcing employees to enter three places on priority, defeats the very purpose of the transfer.

Employees who wanted to work near their hometowns had opposed the additional entries, saying getting transferred to places of second priority would defeat the purpose of the one-time transfer.

Rao said, at a tripartite meeting, the then transport minister Ramalinga Reddy assured them of limiting the choice of additional places to one.

"Once the option of one corporation is given, the other two options exercised will pale into insignificance. But now, we find in some cases, employees are transferred to the place of second option. This has vitiated the spirit and the need for transfers," the release said.

The federation demanded that only the first entry made by the employee should be considered for transfer and other options should be cancelled if the employees are unwilling to take them.
