Man stabbed to death by friends in drunken brawl

In a drunken brawl, a 28-year-old man was stabbed to death by his friends at an isolated place in Sulibele near Hoskote on Sunday night.

According to the police, the victim is Madhu Kumar, a resident of Vijayapura. He was a mason. The police arrested Roshan and Srujan, both daily wage workers, in connection with the incident.

The motive for the murder is yet to be ascertained.

The Vijayapura police said on Sunday evening that the trio had come to a forest area near Arasanahalli village and consumed alcohol. Roshan and Srujan had picked up a fight with Madhu Kumar and in a fit of rage they attacked him with a knife and fled the scene.

A local resident, who heard the screams, rushed to the spot and saw Raghunandan on the ground with injuries. He shifted the victim to a hospital where Madhu Kumar succumbed to his injuries on Monday.

Based on the victim's statement, the police arrested the suspects.
