In what seems to be a repeat of the Gurugram Ryan School incident, a Class I student of a private school here was critically wounded after being attacked allegedly by a senior girl student of the same school.

The kid, who was said to have suffered several stab wounds, has been admitted to the medical college hospital here.

According to the police, the incident had occurred in the school premises on Tuesday but came to their notice only on Wednesday. The principal of the school, Reena Manas, said she had informed the police on Tuesday itself.

Manas, the principal of Brightland School in Triveni Nagar locality in the state capital, said she found the kid in a pool of blood in the toilet after the assembly in the school on Tuesday morning.

"The kid had injury marks on the stomach and chest... he said that he was taken to the washroom by a didi (senior girl student), where he was thrashed and later stabbed several times," she said, quoting the victim.

The police said they were yet to identify the attacker. "We are trying to identify the attacker... we have some clues and we are working on them," said a senior police official here.

The police officials said that they were also investigating whether the school management was trying to hush the matter as it had failed to inform the police on the day the incident occurred.
