JOIN USFour people were killed, while 15 school students sustained injuries, 6 of critically, in a collision between a bike and a school van on Thursday.
The deceased are Danappa Mugadum (45), Manohar Doddamani (35), Appa Saheb Marathe (45), trio residents of Yelahadagi village in Athani taluk and Mudukappa (25).
Six students, who have sustained massive injuries, have been shifted to a hospital in Miraj. Other students are being treated at a hospital in Athani.
The accident occurred on Jewargi-Sankeshwar highway at Khotanahatti village in Athani taluk of Belagavi district.
All the students were studying at Manik Prabhu Primary School, Igali cross.
Mudukappa was driving the school van when the accident occurred. The trio were moving on one bike. Two of them were killed on the spot, while the third one breathed his last on the way to the hospital.
