Give opportunities for women to excel: Governor

Stressing on women empowerment, Governor Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala said that opportunities should be given to women to excel.

Speaking after inaugurating the silver jubilee celebrations of Sharada Vidyalaya here on Saturday, he said: "women are held in high esteem in Indian culture. They are making their presence in all spheres of life. There is a need to provide them opportunities."

Educational institutions should give a platform for female students to showcase their talent. There is a woman behind the success of all great men. When women are given opportunities, India will come out as a strong and powerful nation, he said.

Gaining mere knowledge is not sufficient. Value education should be imparted to the students to achieve success. The youth should develop an attitude to work for their country, said the Governor.

Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Suresh Prabhu said that education which helps in the overall development of a student is the need of the hour. "Quality education coupled with skilled man power is need of the hour" he added.

Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari D Veerendra Heggade said, "only education remains permanently with an individual. Educational institutions play a pivotal role in building the nation and society."

Pejawar junior seer Vishwa Prasanna Theertha Swami, Nitte University Chancellor N Vinay Hegde, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, president Prof M B Puranik and others were present.
