Two drown in farm pond

Two people drowned in a farm pond while they tried to get a plastic can in the pond at Hokkalli Kabbinagadde, in Banakal police station jurisdiction.

They are identified as Ramesh (30), and Sandesh (14). Ramesh was working in the coffee estate of Sripathu. Ramesh's nephew Sandesh visited him at work. On seeing a plastic can in the farm pond, Sandesh tried to get it and fell into the water. Ramesh jumped into the pond to rescue him. As both could not swim, they drowned.

Worried family members searched for Ramesh and Sandesh and found slippers and a mobile phone beside the pond. Later their bodies were retrieved.
