BDA gives layout work order to L&T

The work on developing the Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Layout will commence in two weeks.

The Bangalore Development Authority has awarded the work order to L&T Constructions, and has directed the firm to start at the earliest. L&T will undertake utility development and management of the layout.

BDA Commissioner Rakesh Singh told DH that the firm was awarded the contract, worth Rs 1,255 crore, four days ago. However, the process was on for the past three to four months. The company will also take up power transmission and distribution.

Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited has been awarded the order for installing solar EPCs (engineering, procurement, and construction) services. They will also construct buildings and factory spaces.

L&T, in a media release, stated that its scope of work includes creating 360 km of potable water supply, sewage collection, recycling water supply networks, using 85 km of precast utility ducts, high and low tension power cabling, smart street lighting and fibre optic cables, among others.

Further, five sewage treatment plants, with a combined capacity of 22.5 million litres per day, will be constructed, using advanced technology.
