Last Updated 05 February 2018, 20:03 IST

The city evenings and nights remain chilly, while the day-time remains warm.

The maximum temperature recorded in the city on Monday evening was 30.7 degree Celsius and the minimum temperature was 13.7 degree Celsius.

There was a rise by one degree Celsius in the maximum temperature and a three degrees dip in the minimum temperature.

According to the India Meteorological Department officials, this is a normal feature during February with the on-going winter.

The IMD officials said that the increase in the temperature was because of the clear sky, which is also the reason for the dip in temperature in the evening and night.

The humidity level was at 36%. This is the reason why people are experiencing a dry chilly spell. This is normal during the winter season.

According to the IMD, winter will continue through February.
