The police are yet to arrest the four suspects in the Kadiresh murder case.

Kadiresh, the husband of BJP corporator of Chalavadi Palya ward Rekha, was murdered on Wednesday.

Naveen and Vinay, residents of the same area, are among the suspects.

Four teams formed to nab the culprits are clueless about the motive behind the murder.

Investigating officials said Kadiresh's family, friends and supporters have so far not levelled allegations against anyone.

Preliminary enquiry revealed that Kadiresh's niece had eloped with Peter in 2007. Peter's associates and Kadiresh's men were rivals.

Sources in the police said that Peter was involved in the murder of Senthil, Kadiresh's relative, in 2016.

The police also said that Kadiresh, who has a rowdy sheet at the Cottonpet police station, had two murder cases, three attempts to murder cases, four criminal intimidation cases and seven security proceedings against him.

Due to these cases, Kadiresh had several rivals and was under police surveillance since September 2017.

Also, Kadiresh had taken objection to a few youths who smoked 'ganja' near the Muneshwara temple. He had even beaten up one of the addicts.
