City centre opens in Mangalore

Addressing the gathering, District-in-Charge Minister J Krishna Palemar said that the environment department will relax the rules while issuing license to industries and buildings.
“Earlier the license of hazardous and non hazardous industries had to be renewd every year but now, the license of hazardous industries may be renewed after 5 years.

For non-hazardous industries, it is sufficient if they take permission from departments concerned in the beginning,” he said and added that earlier to build a 2 lakh sq ft building, there was no need to take KIADB permission.

All these relaxations have been made only with the aim of boosting development in the region.

Nitte University Chancellor N Vinay Hegde presided over the programme. MPs D V Sadananda Gowda, Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLAs Abhay Chandra Jain, U T Khader, Mohtisham Managing Director Arshad among others were present.

The structure is spread over 5.4 lakh sqft and the fully air-conditioned mall with uninterrupted power supply will be functional in full force by May end. There are 5 levels of parking, with 8 passenger lifts, 27 escalators, 2 travelators along with 5 freight lights. The mall will have 7 levels of retail shopping space, 5 screen multiplex, food court etc.
