JOIN USA garment factory worker killed his wife by slitting her throat and later attempted suicide by stabbing himself in Hongasandra in Bommanahalli on Tuesday.
The victim has been identified as Radhika (21). The suspect Thyagaraj is being treated at a hospital where his condition is said to be critical.
The couple married four years ago were from Tamil Nadu.
The police said they would fight frequently over some domestic issues and this was repeated on Tuesday afternoon also.
In a fit of rage, Thyagaraj slit her throat with a kitchen knife and later stabbed himself before informing his friend over the phone.
Thyagaraj's friend rushed to the spot and found the door to be locked from inside. With the neighbours' help, he broke open the door. Both were rushed to the hospital. Doctors declared Radhika as brought dead.
Bommanahalli police registered a murder case against Thyagaraj and also attempt to suicide. They are awaiting his recovery to conduct the further interrogation.
