Vasishta juggles many projects

Last Updated 16 February 2018, 15:49 IST

Actor Vasishta N Simha  feels  thrilled  when he is offered a new negative role each time. With upcoming movies 'Tagaru' and Ãogi Duniya',  the actor has hopes high.

In a candid chat with Tini Sara Anien, he talks about  his upcoming projects and  the  thrill of acting.

Is your role in 'Tagaru' different from the others?

I play Chitte, a man who  hails from a good background and past but one incident changes the character's life. Unlike many other negative roles, I play a subtle rowdy character. Chitte is focused on his work and the tasks he is assigned to complete and does not bother about others.

After acting in 'Mufti'  with Shivrajkumar, how different was this film?

Every film is a new experience with him. Shivrajkumar is an epitome of knowledge. He is an inspiration to  everyone on the sets and around. Humble and down to the earth, the actor is more than 120 films old and doesn't carry any air about it ever. I loved working him and I hope to keep working on many more projects with him.

What about 'Tagaru' pulled you to it?

The biggest attraction of the movie is its director, Suri. The way he treats a subject is like none other. Once the work started, it was like being oneself on the sets.

You will soon be seen in 'Yogi Duniya'. How was that experience?

I play a really rugged person in the film. My character will go to any extremes for money and I have never done such a role before.

After the song 'Hangover', how exciting was it sing 'Maili 6ne Maili'?

It is a death metal number for the movie '6ne Mile'. It is the first time a musical number like this has been done in the Kannada industry. This is the only song in the film. The team thought my voice suited best for the song and it was a fulfilling experience.

What are your upcoming projects?

I will also be seen in 'KGF' and 'Kavacha'. I play a pilot in 'Godhra' and a character with two shades in 'Kaalachakra'.

I will be sporting an entirely different avatar in the film and it will be my first solo project. I will also be playing one of the leads in 'Maya Bazaar'.

Any roles you want to be seen in?

Playing a mentally-challenged person would be challenging. I want the world to see how different the world is through their eyes. I  want to play a blind person too.  I want to work on everything.
