Visiting Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau along with his family on Wednesday tried their hand at making Chapatis in the community kitchen at the Golden temple in Amritsar.

Trudeau's wife, Sophie Grégoire, and three kids, attired in traditional Indian outfit, sat on the floor to make Chapatis.

The visiting dignitaries earlier paid obeisance at the Sikh shrine where they were given the traditional Siropa (traditional robe) by the head priest.

Trudeau and his kids walked through the shrine complex covering their head with saffron robe.

Later Trudeau and family met Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh.

Capt presented Trudeau his book Honour and Fidelity – World War I and also a book authored by Khushwant Singh - History of Sikhs.

He presented a traditional Phulkari dupatta- an ethnic creation of Punjab's famous weavers- and a shawl, to Trudeau's wife.

Captain Amarinder presented several gifts to the prime minister's three children.
