Former chief minister Yeddyurappa said that the Narendra Modi-led Central government has offered several programmes for supporting the poor.

Speaking at a meeting held for Shakthi Kendra leaders, the BJP state president alleged that UPA had emptied the country's exchequer. Despite starting off with zero finance, NDA has achieved immensely in terms of ensuring benefits for the lower strata of the society. Modi government has improved the financial scenario of the country within barely three-and-half-years rule. He asserted that the country is progressing. The infrastructural facilities like national highways and railways are developed. The government has emphasised on irrigation in order to support the livelihood of the farmers. He said the nation is marching towards growth in all sectors.

He accused the Congress-led state government as the most corrupt government and the ministers are all indulging in illegal and unethical activities. The chief minister has failed to control his ministers who are involved in rowdyism. He stated that the chief minister, who does not have any power to control the murderer who is with him, is making fun of the Prime Minister who stands above all for his charismatic characters and concern for the country and poor.

He warned that his party is in the possession of the required evidences in the form of documents to bring out the scams and scandals of the Congress leaders. "Certainly the work to expose Congress leaders will be carried out, however, in a phase by phase fashion depending on the appropriate time," he said.

'Rahul is immature'

Earlier, addressing the BJP social media conclave, Yeddyurappa ridiculed that AICC president Rahul Gandhi is a child who talks without using his brain. He requires maturity to handle politics. Terming Rahul Gandhi as 'bacchca', the former chief minister claimed that the poor performance of Rahul and his party would help BJP to gain more than 150 seats.

He alleged that Congress has done nothing to improve the living conditions of the poor, especially the slum dwellers. There is no development and poverty in state is at an all time high. Congress should be held responsible for the poor state of the people. Despite ruling more than six decades, Congress has done nothing to develop the country, he alleged and assured that BJP would be the ray of hope in the lives of poor and slum dwellers.

Meanwhile, BJP general secretary Muralidhar Rao alleged that Congress, with its dynastic rule, is posing a severe threat to the secular approach of the country. BJP was part of the struggle which was introduced during the unification process in the country. The party is for one culture, one constitution and one country. He said youth are the driving force of social media and BJP is the party which is immensely benefited by the social media.

BJP national president Amit Shah offered prayers at Sri Krishna mutt and said he is blessed to have the darshan of Lord Krishna. He added that the temple is also for Kanakadasa. He maintained that he is immensely privileged to meet the seers of the mutts and receive their blessings.
