JOIN USVidwath L is slowly recovering but is still on a liquid diet and is unable to speak.
Dr Anand K, consultant plastic surgeon, Mallya Hospital, said the facial fractures are improving while the fracture of the rib cage will take at least three to four weeks to cure.
"About 50% of his facial swelling has subsided. His oxygen saturation is 92%, due to the rib fracture," said Dr Anand.
Vidwath is being examined for internal injuries and bleeding. "His facial contusion is slowly healing, the blood clot has gone and fresh blood has to fill and it will take some time," Dr Anand said.
Senior IPS officer B N S Reddy visited the hospital on Wednesday. Reddy told DH, "I heard from Vidwath's friend that Mohammed asked him to lick his shoes and say sorry. This is barbaric."
