The High Court of Karnataka on Thursday passed an interim order permitting students belonging to the Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) category to appear for the Common Entrance Test (CET) exam for undergraduate engineering courses for 2018.
Justice B V Nagarathna was hearing a batch of petitions filed by various OCI category students challenging the decision of the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) against permitting OCI students to appear for the examination. The court directed the KEA to accept the offline applications of the petitioners and allow the students to participate in the further proceedings of the examination.
During CET 2017, OCI candidates were allowed to participate in counselling.
