On my pinboard -Huma Qureshi

Huma Qureshi made her Bollywood debut with a supporting role in 'Gangs of Wasseypur' directed by Anurag Kashyap. She earned several nominations for the role, including the award for Best Female Debut and the Best Supporting Actress. She then built her career with lead roles in movies like 'Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana' and 'Ek Thi Daayan'.

Some of her other popular movies include 'Dedh Ishqiya', 'Badlapur', 'Highway' and 'Jolly LLB 2'. The trailer for her upcoming film 'Kaala' starring Rajinikanth and Nana Patekar was released last week. The film will hit the screens in April.

She was recently in the city to be a part of an event called 'The Democracy Wall' at Jain University.

Food

Biryani"My comfort food is a good homemade 'Mutton Biryani'. It's that one dish that I grew up eating and it's best when made at home. Actually, a lot of my friends came home to have it. But since my mother lives in Delhi and it's not a dish that I can eat every day, I look forward to Eid. I've grown up having it all my life so I don't mind waiting for it."

TravelMauritius"I'm a beach baby. I love going to the seaside and unwinding whenever I can. Thanks to my career as an actor, it introduces me to a lot of places that I have never been to before. I love visiting Italy and any other place in the world that has a beach. I also love the hills as my mother is Kashmiri."

MovieAndaz Apna Apna"It's a classic movie that I can watch anytime. The movie was released in 1994 but it's still hilarious. There isn't one particular thing about the movie that I can point and say 'this is my favourite'. Everyone in the film has done a great job and it's absolutely crazy. 'Sholay' is also a film that I like. Unfortunately, we don't make these kinds of movies anymore."

MusicianA R Rahman"He is his own orchestra. I grew up listening to his music and the 90s compositions were brilliant. Songs from 'Roja' and 'Bombay' are some of my favourites. He knows how to make soulful music which one can listen to even after so many years. Having said that, I don't have a preferred genre. I like listening to everything."

BookTouch by Courtney Maum"I love reading and that's why I don't have one favourite book. I am currently reading Touch by Courtney Maum which is a brilliant book so far. It's a satirical novel where the protagonist finds herself wanting to overturn her own predictions, move away from technology, and reclaim her heart. I like reading autobiographies, fiction and philosophical books."
