In a tit for tat move, BJP ministers Kamineni Srinivas Rao (medical and health) and P Manikyala Rao (endowments) submitted their resignation letters to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in Amaravati on Thursday.

The ministers, who skipped the cabinet meeting, met Naidu in his chambers in the Assembly and handed over the letters. They thanked the CM for the opportunity given to them to serve as ministers for nearly four years. Naidu also appreciated them for working efficiently along with TDP ministers.

They later shared their emotional bond with the CM and the fellow ministers during the period. Kamineni was all praise for Naidu for his hard work and dedication. Manikyala Rao said Naidu made him computer literate. He told the media that earlier he could only make phone calls from his smart phone, but now operates a laptop, thanks to the encouragement by Naidu. He remembered the paperless cabinet meetings, a brain child of Naidu

'No central neglect'

However, in a sudden turn of events hours after the   resignations, a BJP delegation led by Kamineni Srinivasa Rao visited the construction site of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) near Mangalagiri in Guntur district to review its progress. "The construction of seven blocks has been going on, on a war footing," Rao said pointing out that the union government has never neglected projects in the state. The state unit members will be visiting all the projects undertaken during the past four years with central assistance.
