The Karnataka High Court on Wednesday dismissed the bail petition of Mohammed Nalapad and others.

Justice Sreenivas Harish Kumar dismissed the petition after completion of the arguments.

Nalapad, son of Shantinagar MLA N.A. Haris is lodged at the Parappana Agrahara Central Prison for brutally assaulting 24-year-old Vidwath with his gang. He approached the High Court after the Sessions Court denied him bail.

The Judge in the last hearing had orally observed that it was Mohammed who had assaulted the victim first as shown in the video graphic evidence provided by the special public prosecutor.

The Judge in his order stated that the petitioner is the son of a sitting MLA and granting him bail will allow him to misuse his power and tamper with the evidence. Moreover, the CCTV footage clearly shows the brutality of the crime and the horrendous atmosphere that was created by the petitioner.
