Bakery owner assaulted

A gang of five men assaulted an owner of a bakery and ransacked his outlet in Geddalahalli in Hennur on Wednesday night. The suspects, who had gone to the bakery, started asking for a particular snack which Abhilaksh, the owner, said he does not have.

Heated arguments ensued, following which the suspects refused to pay Abhilaksh. They assaulted Abhilaksh and his assistant and ransacked the shop. Hearing the commotion, passers-by began gathering at the bakery, but the suspects fled the spot. Abhilaksh sustained minor injuries and was admitted to a private hospital.

The episode was captured on a CCTV camera, which the police have retrieved to identify the assailants. The Hennur police have registered a case and are probing.
