JOIN USThe high court on Thursday directed the BBMP to file a detailed status report specifying the areas where the work on remodelling, reconstruction and maintenance of stormwater drains (SWDs) in the city has been completed.
A division bench headed by Chief Justice Dinesh Maheshwari was hearing a public interest litigation petition filed by the Citizen Action Group seeking directions to the civic body to desilt the city SWDs.
The bench said it was not satisfied with the BBMP report as the details were incomplete.
In the last hearing, the court had expressed disappointment while observing that only remodelling, reconstruction and maintenance of 177-km of the SWDs out of 842-km had been completed in the past three years.
The bench had asked the civic body to complete the work in accordance with law.
The matter was adjourned.
