'Sanjjanaa and I get compared a lot'

Actor Nikki Galrani plays the role of a rich, spoilt brat in her latest release, 'O Premave'. The actor who is busy fulfilling her commitments in the Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu language industries, says that she is happy to return to work in a familiar territory.

Nikki's previous releases in Kannada include 'Ajith', 'Jambo Savari' and a cameo in 'Siddhartha' with Vinay Rajkumar. "I have been getting a lot of offers from the Kannada film industry but I haven't been able to commit to anything because of lack of dates. My commitments in other languages keep me busy throughout the year," she says. But the actor wishes to take up more work in Kannada because she feels this will give her more time to spend with her family.

Talking about her role in 'O Premave', Nikki, says that she plays the character of a girl who wishes to live like a queen, with all the luxury and pleasures in life. "She gets close to a guy who she thinks is rich but she soon understands that love is more important than materialistic things. The rest of the story is about the changes that occur in her life and why she begins to believe that love comes above all else," says Nikki.

Incidentally, Nikki's sister Sanjjanaa also has a release along with her sister. "I didn't realise that Sanjjanaa's 'Dandupalya 3' is also releasing on the same day. "Sanjjanaa and I get compared a lot but that's the case with all siblings who work in the film industry. But comparisons don't affect us because at the end of the day, she is my sister and we will always remain close, no matter where we are," says Nikki. She also feels that it is unrealistic to compare 'O Premave' and 'Dandupalya 3' because the films belong to two different genres.

The actor, who currently lives in Chennai, is coming home to Bengaluru for 'Ugadi'. "I want to surprise my parents and hence the sudden trip to Bengaluru. I am the baby of the family and people at home have been wanting to see me for a while. I thought I should fulfill my long-pending promise to be home on a festival," Nikki signs off.
