Roca eyes perfect ending

Beginning a debut season with a bang is nothing new for Bengaluru FC and coach Albert Roca  expressed his delight at the way things have panned out.

On a 14-game unbeaten streak, BFC will hope the cherry on top of the cake will be an unbroken streak studded with a title as they lock horns with Chennaiyin FC in the Indian Super League final on Saturday.

"I'm extremely happy for the franchise and the city in particular. It  was important for us to be in the final but we also knew it will be hard to get here. We lost some games in the initial part of the season, and then we showed a little consistency in the later stages. What is important is to maintain that tempo and shape going into tomorrow's big game. This will definitely be our toughest game of the season and we are ready for the challenge," affirmed Roca.

Chennai will be no pushover in the showcase event, especially since they'll have fond memories of beating BFC 2-1 when the two teams met here in December. Roca was wary of the threat but also earmarked what his side needed to do to prevail in the contest.

"If we are able to control things then we shouldn't have too much of a problem. Whatever happens, we just need to be able to score one goal more than them," added the Spaniard.

Skipper Sunil Chhetri weighed in at the pre-match press conference saying that clashes like this do a world of good for the sport.

"It's great that there's a final happening, and that too in Bangalore. It's going to be a packed stadium, it's great for the sport and I'm very happy for entire South India," beamed Chhetri.

He even had a message for the fans, saying: "We are going to go there and give it our all. The team is definitely going to put on a show so we'd like the fans to be there."
