JOIN USThe district Anganwadi workers and assistants have demanded that the facilities that were announced by the government should be provided to them without any hindrance.
Speaking to reporters, district Anganwadi Workers and Assistants president Usha said that the Anganwadi Workers and Assistants are always deprived of facilities that are announced by the government.
They should be given an opportunity to opt for voluntary retirement, she suggested.
'Ineffective project'
She said that the state government project Mathrupurna Yojane had been ineffective in Udupi district.
They demanded that measures should be taken to promote the schemes on a large scale.
Pregnant women do not respond to the scheme, she said.
Under Mathra Vandana programme initiated by the central government, the Anganwadi Workers and Assistants are not given proper remuneration since 2011 although they sweat it out to reach out to the beneficiaries, she said.
The promotions are not made available, she said. Even ESI and pension facilities should be made available to the Anganwadi Workers and Assistants, she added.
