Last Updated 17 March 2018, 17:17 IST

For the first time in the history of I PU exams in the state, the students of I PU in the district can get their results online from 8 am on March 19.

Speaking to reporters on Saturday, K R Thimmaiah, deputy director of PU Education, said that the Dakshina Kannada Pre University College Principals' Association had taken special interest in providing results online. All the 196 colleges and 38,306 students in the district who had taken I PU exam can get the results by 8 am on March 19. The results are expected to be announced in the respective colleges throughout the state at 1.30 pm on the same day.

Lauding the efforts of principals' association, Thimmaiah said plans are on the anvil to extend the facility to other regions and colleges from next year.

How to see results

Informing the same, Madhusudan Kushe PU College principal K K Upadhyaya said a student needs to log on to http:/result.dkpucpa.com, select his or her college from the available list, enter the roll number exactly as in the hall ticket, type the date of birth of the student, enter values in the captcha image and click on 'Show Result' button.

"If the above details match with those available in the system, the result and marks break up will be displayed. There is a provision to download the marks card too. In case the details do not match, then an appropriate error message will be displayed," he explained.

"As the decision to provide results online was taken a little late and the colleges had already given the registration numbers to the candidates, more details have to be given to get the results. Efforts will be made to simplify the procedure to get online results from next year onwards," Upadhyaya said.

Benefits

Stating that transparency and clarity are maintained in the new system, superintendent Nithin said the results available in the website may be printed on A3 size paper to be displayed in respective college notice boards.

Those who could not clear all the exams, may pay the supplementary exam fee Rs 101 for one subject; Rs 201 for two subjects and Rs 302 for three and more subjects. The last date to submit the application is March 31, 2018.
