Srirangapatna police on Saturday arrested Varun, of Veeru Creations of Bengaluru, in connection with the helium balloon blast in Srirangapatna on Friday. He was later released on bail.
Police have booked him under IPC Section 337 and 385. According to the police, the blast was caused due to negligence after the balloon came in contact with a live electric wire.
It may be mentioned that 10 persons, including children, were injured in the blast when they were making arrangements to welcome AICC president Rahul Gandhi, who was expected in the town.
