Recruiter says hackers broke into Naukri.com a/c; stole 1 lakh resumes

A city-based online job consultancy firm has lodged a police complaint, saying their email id and subscribed account with Naukri.com have been hacked.

In their complaint to the superintendent of police, Cyber Crime Division, Klaus IT Solutions Private Limited has stated that unidentified hackers stole 1,00,000 resumes on October 28, 29 and 30 last year from various IP addresses.

"The mail ID (careers@klausit) was hacked, through which the hacker gained access to our paid portal Naukri.com and downloaded over one lakh resumes," the firm stated in its complaint.

In a statement to DH, Naukri.com CMO and head of corporate communications Sumeet Singh refuted claims that the portal's servers were hacked.

"Klaus IT Solutions Private Limited is not responsible for managing Naukri.com's servers," he said in the statement.

"Klaus IT is an existing client subscribed to Naukri.com's services. There exists no vendor-vendee relationship between Naukri.com and Klaus IT. The news article's claim that Naukri.com's servers were hacked is incorrect," Singh further said.

However, Klaus IT insisted in the complaint that only its email account and the subscription had been hacked.

A statement from Naukri.com said the portal takes data security and privacy extremely seriously and has deployed advanced security systems and processes to ensure the data is secure.
