<p>A thief trying to rob mobile phones and laptops from a women's paying guest accommodation in Kaikondanahalli on Sarjapur Road died after falling from the building's fourth floor.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The police are yet to identify the thief. The body is kept at the mortuary at the St John's Hospital and a post-mortem is yet to be performed.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The police said the incident happened around 3.30 am at the Lakshminarayana women's paying guest accommodation on Sarjapur Road.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The thief, whom the paying guests say could be in his late twenties, had sneaked into their four-storied building possibly from the adjacent terrace.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The thief reached into the room through the window to take away mobile phones and laptops, but the police said a few women who were asleep woke up to the sound, <br />saw the thief on the other side of the window and screamed.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The thief panicked and tried jumping on to the adjacent terrace, but slipped and fell to the ground, the women told the police.</p>.<p class="bodytext">He lay on the ground with serious injuries until the police arrived and shifted him to St John's Hospital, where he was declared brought dead.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The Bellandur police have registered a case of unnatural death and are investigating further.</p>
