Illegal banners, flex: FIR against 8 people

Moodbidri Assembly constituency electoral officer Prathap has filed an FIR against eight people for putting up unauthorised banners and flexes at Haleyangady, thus violating the model code of conduct.

Assistant Returning Officer Ashok and Haleyangady PDO Muralidhar inspected the spot and noted the violation of the model code of conduct by various persons for erecting flex and banners. They asked the police to initiate action. Later, the banners and flex were cleared from the spot.

FIRs have been registered against Rakesh Rock Hair Dressers for a flex on Hindu Jagarana Vedike, Indiranagara, Matha Developers, Mangaluru for flex on Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation Trust, Bhagavathi United Friends, Bhagavathi Sounds and Caterers, Haleyangady for a flex on Sasihithlu Bhagavathi Kshethra programme.

FIRs have been registered against Jayasri and Madhava Devadiga, president, Vidya Vinayaka Yuvaka Mandala, Rajesh Kotian and Chandrashekar Anchan Mukka, Ashritha Caterers, Hoige Gudde, Mangaluru.

Liquor seized

The Sullia police arrested a man who was transporting liquor at Narkodu check post.

The arrested is Abdul Lathif, a resident of Bandiadka in Kasargod. Police seized 24 liquor bottles of 180 ml each from the arrested. He was produced in the court, which remanded him in judicial custody.
