Karunanidhi's visit to Delhi raises eyebrows

Last Updated 01 May 2010, 18:47 IST

The DMK supremo, who is likely to arrive here on Sunday morning, will meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress chief Sonia Gandhi to discuss the latest political situation. His last visit to Delhi was almost a year ago, before the formation of the UPA government.
Karunanidhi is expected to discuss a host of issues, including the frequent absence of Fertiliser Minister M K Azhagiri in Parliament, Opposition demand for the removal of Raja and the issue of Sri Lankan Tamils.

Though the chief minister’s aides have  claimed that the visit is to attend the Planning Commission meeting to discuss the annual plan size of the state, it is said he is likely to gauge the Congress mood as it is facing Opposition ire over Raja and Azhagiri issues.
