Illegal transportation of sand unearthed in Mangalore

The sand was booked for transport through Southern Railway Parcel Booking Agency in the name of chemicals. However, there was no trace of who is involved in the incident.  As the rumour of the presence of gun powder inside the water tank began to spread, police arrived the spot and opened to find sand inside the tank. The sand has been handed over to the department of Mines and Geology for further investigation. A case has been registered.

Woman killed in mishap

A woman was killed when a bus knocked her down at Thekkatte bus stand in Kota police station limits.

The deceased has been identified as Paddu Poojarthy (52), a native of Kota Padukere. The incident occured when she was waiting for the bus. A case has been registered.
