Udupi tops in Karnataka in PU exams

Rural students have outdone the urban students. Of the total of 84 colleges, only three colleges have bagged 100 per cent results, of which two are Government colleges and one is an aided college.  Vidyodaya Pre University College Udupi, Government Pre University College Kokkarne (Brahmavara) and Government Pre university College Palli (Karkala) have bagged 100 per cent results.

Top scorers

Vinuta Rao of Poorna Prajna College Udupi has scored 587 marks in science stream. Rahsmi K Rao of Commerce stream of MGM College has scored 581 marks. Swathi Rao of Government Pre University College Padubidri has scored 529 marks in arts stream.

Overall view

A total of 15,527 students appeared for the examination of which 7,638 are boys and 7,889 are girls. As many as 12,101 have passed the examination.  In arts stream, the overall percentage is 67.02 per cent. A total of 4,815 students appeared for the examination of which 3,227 have passed.

In Commerce stream, the overall percentage is 80.75 per cent. A total of 7,020 students appeared of which 5,674 have passed.  A total of 3,685 students appeared for the examination under science stream and 3,200 have passed. A total percentage of 86.84 has been bagged by students under this stream.

The total percentage of students passing from urban area is 77.16 per cent while it is 78.63 per cent in rural areas. A total of 7,346 students have appeared for examination in urban area of which 5,668 have passed. In rural area, 8,181 students appeared of which 6,433 have passed.
