The book is priced at Rs 560 for the deluxe version and Rs 350 for the economy version.
The cost of the gazetteers range between Rs 290 and Rs 520. The gazetteers are available at government press in Bangalore, Mysore, Gulbarga and Dharwad.

Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa launched the English version of the book and also the English version of gazetteers of Bijapur, Mysore and Kannada version of Dakshina Kannada district, at a function in Bangalore.  On the occasion, the chief minister on Wednesday assured that all vacancies in the State gazetteer department will be filled up on a priority basis.

Karnataka Gazetteer Chief Editor Suryanath Kamath pointed out that severe shortage of staff had become a hurdle in the efficient functioning of the department. “There are only six employees in our section. If the vacancies are not filled up then the department faces the threat of being closed down,” Kamath said.

The chief minister directed the Department of Kannada and Culture Secretary B R Jayaramaraje Urs to attend to the problem immediately and submit a report. If required suitable amendment would be made to the Cadre and Recruitment rules to depute experienced employees from the education department to the gazetteer department, the chief minister said.
