Gracy Singh has had no mentor and no camps supporting her. But the actress epitomises the traditional Indian woman and has proved her prowess by playing different roles.
Gracy, who has been in the entertainment industry for long, has always kept a low profile.
But now, having shed her extra kilos, Gracy looks more vivacious, self-assured, dynamic, pretty and glamourous. The Punjabi lass had shot to fame beyond her imagination in Lagaan, which got her a special award — Face of the Year at IIFA in 2002.
She was nominated for the Popular Award and also won the Screen Award for the Most Promising Newcomer and Zee Cine Award for Best Debut — Female. With films like Gangajal and Munnabhai MBBS again hitting the bull’s eye, it was just like a cherry topping on the cream for the actress.
Gracy has acted with big stars like Aamir Khan, Anil Kapoor, Ajay Devgan, Sanjay Dutt and even Big B. Having proved her competence in Hindi cinema, she is even popular in the South. Very few may be aware that she has acted in Punjabi films too.
It is sad that though she has featured in more than two dozen films, she is still far from attaining what she actually deserves.
