A dead body, which was buried 8 months ago was exhumed by the villagers and burnt on Thursday because the villagers felt that the region was not receiving adequate rains because the body of this man was buried.
The belief goes that the dead body of persons who have white spots on the body must be buried and not burnt. Accordingly, a person from Hochihalli in Yagati hobli who had lucoderma died and his body was buried. Somehow the villagers started feeling that the village was not receiving enough rain because the body of this person was buried as against the religious rule which demands burning of the body. Hence, the villagers convinced the family members to exhume the body and burn it so that the village receives enough rain!
