‘Resume supply of food grains’
The Avibhajitha Dakshina Kannada Anganwadi Sangha complained that the ready-to-eat food supplied to the Angawadis by the State government, to feed the children and the pregnant women, is tasteless and cannot be consumed.
Addressing media persons here on Tuesday, Secretary of the Sangha said that the canned nutritious (powdered) food provided by the State government is bland and children are averse to it.
Even pregnant women have complained that the powdered food makes them throw up. In fact, the pregnant ladies have asked for the food that used to be send to them earlier. The Government had stopped the supply of food grains 6 months ago and replaced it with the nutritious powders and ready to eat meals. The Sangha has appealed to the government to stop the supply of the such meals and resume the foodgrains supply as before, she said.
