Three held with narcotics worth Rs 25 lakh

Gokula (24) of Pattegarapalya near Kanakanagar, Raghavendra (24) of Moodalapalya and Narasimha Murthy (36) of Nelagadaranahalli were arrested for possessing 890 grams of narcotic substance. One of their accomplices Rama from Muddanapalya is absconding.

They were in a car, planning to sell the narcotic substance at Aziz Seth Industrial Area Service road when the police on a tip off arrested them. A case under NDPS Act was registered against them.

Car thief arrested

Srihari Reddy from Nellur in Andhra Pradesh tried all possible ways to earn sufficient money to lead a lavish life and even got into fortune-telling but nothing worked wonders for him. He then switched to car theft and stole vehicles but this soothsayer could not predict that he would cool his heels one day in the jail.

Srihari (36), was arrested recently by the Indiranagar police with two Toyota cars worth Rs 31 lakh. With many aliases Srihari Reddy of Gudur town in Nellur district of Andhra Pradesh came to Bangalore some 20 years ago and started working in a poultry farm. But he did not like the job as the work was hard and earning meagre. He then tried his luck as astrologer but as his business failed, he then got into vehicle- lifting. He stole two cars but was caught.

Ornaments recovered

The Nandini Layout Police arrested a thief who had burgled several houses using fake keys.  Police gave the name of the thief as Deepu (24) of Uppalli in Indavar of Chikamagalur district. The police recovered gold ornaments worth Rs three lakh from his possession, which he had stolen from houses in Nandini Layout.
