Premier rolls out Rio

The new vehicle marks the re-entry of Premier (earlier known as Premier Automobiles Limited) into passenger vehicle segment, comes with features like power steering, split rear seat, alloy wheels, central locking, clear headlamps, anti lock braking system, et al.

Powered by Premier’s 1489cc turbo diesel engine delivering close to 65 BHP, based on Peugeot technology, the SUV gives a mileage of 16 km per litre, the company said.

Briefing reporters, General Manager (Marketing) Avniesh Goel said: “Rio is assembled at Pune plant with components imported through an agreement with Chinese partner Zotye Group. The firm plans to expand its dealership network to about 200 dealerships from the current 60 in the next 12 months. The company has signed a State-wide dealership with Komura Premier, which has one showroom in Koramangala and one in Mangalore currently.
