Instead of handing over the work to Dredging Corporation, we are planning to hand over to private contractors.” <br /><br />When the locals drew Minister’s attention towards damage to part of jetty built two years ago, he said “it was collapsed due to poor quality of work,” and directed Executive Engineer Nanje Gowda to initiate action against the contractor. <br /><br />A proposal of Rs 3 crore has been sanctioned for repairing the old jetty in Gangolli. The tender process will be invited as soon as the department receives technical clearance. <br />He stated that there are few takers for Rs 5,000 interest free loan for fisherwomen and Matsyasharaya scheme. <br /><br />Taluk Panchayat member Surendar Kharvi, fishemen leaders Ramappa Kharvi, Krishna Kotian, Mahesh Poojary, Moideen Saheb and others were present.</p>
