Israel awards India's Jain Irrigation for 'impressive' show

Jerusalem, Jun 9 (PTI)

Leading Indian agriculture conglomerate Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd, which has more than 50 per cent stake in Israel's NaanDan Jain Irrigation, has been awarded for its 'impressive' activities in the country by the Israel-Asia Chamber of Commerce.

The Judgement committee also felicitated Amnon Ofen, Director of NaanDaan Jain Irrigation, with Lifetime achievement award for his break through Israel-India activity.

While felicitating a single company that "excelled" in business ties and investment in Israel, the committee "decided to grant Jain Irrigation, India, a Special Award for its investment in NaanDan Jain Irrigation and its impressive activity" in the country, a statement by the chamber said.

Israel Minister of Industry, Trade and Labour Fuad Ben-Eliezer handed over these awards during the Annual Event of the Israel-Asia Chamber of Commerce.

Since its entry in 2007, Jain Irrigation has invested more than USD 40 million in Israel products, largest investment by any Asian Company and also acquired 50.01 of NaanDan Jain Irrigation.
