How to keep the doctor out of your hair!

Well, for all apple haters and those who would like to be healthy anyway, here are some very important tips to put into your silver diary of sense and smart moves. They are from a useful book to be read immediately called The 100 Simple Secrets of Healthy People by David Niven, PH.D. It tells us what scientists have learned and how you can use it.

1. A tomato a day is even better! Include tomatoes or tomato sauce in your diet at least five times a week and it will reduce the risk of many major diseases! The red tomato is healthy even after it is cooked! Surprisingly, processed tomato sauces used in pizzas and pastas, may be even better than raw ones! So now eat your pizzas without feeling guilty!

2. Don't buy the fountain of youth: Tell this to your moms, aunts and uncles, grandparents and teachers. Those pills, creams, potions and lotions promising you youth and everlasting beauty are all false. They will make you poorer and older, just like the smarter ones who don't waste their money on them. In fact, some of them can even make you ill.

3. Always being right is wrong for your health! Those bossy, righteous, bullying people who have a high opinion of themselves and little respect for others end up experiencing more stress, less real friendships, more anger and disappointment!

4. Eat your spinach: Eating two servings of tomatoes, spinach, methi, kidney beans and grain products help to keep heart disease and stroke at a healthy distance from you.

5. Turn off the TV! Do anything else when you have time, or are worried, do some gardening, reading, cooking, or playing but avoid TV and you will be more active and less flabby.

6. Having a pet is healthy: these angels are sent from the Universe to help us to bear the dread, the disarray, and dismay that life dumps on us. They are fun to be with, never fight or harm you, and will always be there when the whole world seems to have turned into a dark, tight corner.

7. Use discretion with Internet Advice: this is a very important message. There is a huge universe of QUACKS on the net waiting to grab you and run with your money and health. So check out these sites before you risk your money and health on them. Consult a reliable doctor first, especially when cancer, aids, and other diseases are involved.

8. Never put up with second hand smoke: whether it is your uncle, aunt, father, mother, someone in the theatre or the mall, smoking, you must tell them to stop. ''Second hand smoke kills more Americans each year than murder, drugs, and AIDS combined" said a researcher for Action Against Tobacco. Remember that second hand smoke affects the brain.

9. Noise matters: the auto driver playing loud music, the music store playing louder music, the bus screeching out loud music, can all harm you. Loud noise can affect your ability to think, to remember and could make you deaf. Researchers have found that workers in noisy offices have higher stress levels and lose half their ability to deal with serious problems.

10. Hostility hurts you: Negative people who bully you, or are jealous, cruel or mean to you should be avoided at all costs. Just keeping far away from them will make you healthier and happier. Some glorious health recipes: watch a 100 white swans shimmering under sunshine! Watch cats getting drunk on catnip and rolling over and over like drunkards! Eat hot masala dosas and rosgollas as often as you can!
